Hello and welcome!
My name is Valeria, Vee for short (just like me since I’m 4’11)! I’ve been on a journey to become more than just a dog mom for several years alongside my non-official husband, Jason. We’ve had plenty of ups and downs on the road to parenthood and I created this blog not only as a place for me to share my story, but a place for other women to feel less alone on this journey.
I know firsthand that it can feel like no one understands the pain and the emotions that we go through. All the negative pregnancy tests, the unwanted fear and anxiety when it’s a positive, and the overwhelming grief over the loss when the pregnancy ended far too soon, with no baby to hold and love and kiss and smell. Well I’m here to tell you that you are NOT alone.
I can’t speak for anyone else – and wouldn’t dream of it as I know everyone grieves in their own way. But I will say this: talking about it, in time, has helped me, seeing a therapist has helped me, having friends and family who I felt comfortable enough to let in has helped me.
So I welcome you with open arms to get to know me and what I’ve been through. And if you feel up for it, to share your story as well.
We are not alone through this. We have each other, that’s a promise.
Fun Facts
I’m a huge Harry Potter nerd – a Potterhead, some might say.
I have a German Shepherd named Eugene, a pug named Milo, a ball python named Nagini (get it, get it??), and I can’t leave out our first German Shepherd, JuJu, who we unfortunately lost to lymphoma in October 2023.
I’m in my crafty era and enjoy granny hobbies such as embroidery and crocheting.
I come from Mexican roots and grew up strictly speaking Spanish at home, which I now thank my parents for and plan on raising my future children to be bilingual as well!
